BICENTENNIAL GENERAL HENRY KNOX 1976 – Re-enactment First Day Issue Envelope.
Not a stamp expert but here’s what I think….
This envelope has a USA 13 cent “Spirit of 76” stamp on it, postmarked in Marlborough MA 01752 on January 22, 1976 which I believe commemorates the date when Gen. Knox (or the 1976 re-enactment passed through Marlborough, dragging those all-important cannon.
Printed on the envelope…
-as part of the postmark: “Through This Place Passed Henry Knox 1775-1776,
-printed on the envelope “Henry Knox, Reenactment, December 1975 – Jannnnnuary 1776” along with a drawing of Knox and oxen dragging cannon.
